That is such back breaking work! Our “Kalli Shack” as Bill calls it, is built on 9 16-ft square posts. Before we poured those, we had to build the paddock wich consisted of 14 posts. We used concrete on all of them. This, too, shall pass my friend. 🙂 Other than the roof, I would say this was the hardest part of the project. This weekend I tried to talk him into turning the last 12 x 12 stall into an observation deck for star gazing and leaving the roof off of it. Since we’ve already purchases all of the tin and other materials to roof it, we’ve decided to add a separate observation deck onto the other end when the barn is complete. I can’t wait. It will be a great place to watch the meteorite shower, have adult beverages and the kids can watch me train from a safe distance. It will have rails, built-in bench seating and one of those rustic ice chests you see for sale on the side of the road. I almost bought one at HEB yesterday. It was TOO cute!!! Can’t wait. We’re living the dream, girl!!!!
