Metal staircase off dogrun

Bob surprised me with his custom designed stair case leading off the back of the dogrun. It’s so awesome being married to a metal artist who also enjoys building things for his wife. I’ve been whining for months now about needing a stair case leading off the dogrun. I just wanted a temporary set, nothing fancy. Instead of settling for a temporary ugly set of stairs he designed this incredible thing. It was really worth the wait, thank you baby!

  1. Sweet!!! When will you be moving in?

It’s going to be a while. We are building this ourselves on the weekends, and paying cash as we go so it makes for a slow process. We started building last October and think we can at least get it dried-in with insulation and electricity in the next 6 months. It will be somewhat livable after that but not finished, that phase may take years. We won’t be living out there full-time until the boys are out of college. We have 1 in college and 2 in high school right now. They help with the building process when they can. It’s pretty exciting for us.

Thanks for the compliments Arlene. I’m with you when it comes to patience. I’m ready right now to pack up and move out there; however, life and reality set in and then I realize that everyday, even if it doesn’t feel like it, we are taking steps and strides that lead us to that path. Patience has paid off, literally, for us. We have found more things on sale, tossed out and given away to us because we were able to wait.
